Kate + Cody | Clarkesville, Georgia

A dreamy dress. A dreamy backdrop. And dreamy tables-capes. This is what I think about when I look back at Kate and Cody's wedding day. But not only was their day filled with the dreamiest, farm style details—but it was filled with intense love and intention. (Plus they had breakfast for dinner with doughnuts on top, more on that later!)

This couple did their research and planned well so they could be present and active in each moment of their wedding day. Everything from their venue selection to finding a photographer who could take timeless photos without looking antiquated, their selections were so strong. But not only were they thoughtful in their planning decisions—they were completely on board to have fun.

Kate and Cody didn’t see each other until the moment when Kate walked down the aisle with her dad. And during their ceremony, commitments to one another were witnessed by their best friends who prayed over them and their marriage just just prior to their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Lovin. It’s easy to see that Kate and Cody’s love for each other runs deep—and so does their love for each of their friends and family.

With a love so strong—it’s important to have a celebration that measures up that level. A reception that has the “All-Star Special” from Waffle House catered for their guests is definitely on the right track to something good—the scrambled eggs, the bacon, the biscuits, the grits! And on top of that, were hundreds of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Once brinner was finished, the dance floor opened up and stayed hoppin’ until sparklers were lit with the newlyweds marching down a tunnel filled with all their favorite faces.

Kate and Cody—you celebrate hard, and I believe in your marriage whole-heartedly. Warm wishes always!

What was your most memorable moment during the wedding ceremony?
Easy. The one thing that isn’t a total blur—and that I loved most—was Cody’s reaction as I walked down the aisle towards him and into our new beginning. His emotional response took my breath away and allowed me to experience what really being the bride of Christ is like. I felt so loved, so seen, and so beautiful in that moment!

What was your favorite moment of your reception?
I think that it’s a tie between having a hearty plate of Waffle House, celebrating our marriage with our people, and walking through the tunnel of sparklers with Cody—aka leaving with my HUSBAND!

What advice would you give to those currently planning their wedding?
Keep it simple. Don’t get caught up in the things that won’t last. Keep your eyes on Jesus and not on the opinions of others. Think more about your marriage than your wedding. Make lots of checklists. Ask for help.
