Emily and Mike’s wedding day didn’t only establish them as husband and wife—it established their entire family. You see, not only did Emily gain a new last name—but her daughter did as well! Their day was celebratory and meaningful in so many ways.

Larkin’s on the River in Greenville, South Carolina was a trifecta of goodness for this event—an industrial, outdoor alleyway for the ceremony, an indoor ballroom for the reception, and impeccable food for the guests.

Instead of having a formal send-off, Mike and Emily opted for a simple goodbyes with hugs and high-fives from friends as they walked through downtown Greenville to the hotel—it was a simple and relaxed ending to an amazing day. Congratulation, Ramos’s!

What was your favorite moment of the wedding ceremony?
When our love letters got read. I don’t see those often in wedding ceremonies and it’s something I’ll never forget.

What was your favorite moment of the reception?
My favorite part of the reception (besides open bar and dancing ) was sitting at our dinner table watching everyone enjoying dinner and eachothers company. We had so many friends and family travel from as close to us as Georgia—and as far as New York. It meant a lot to have everyone we truly cared about in one room celebrating such a special day with us.

What advice would you give to someone currently planning their wedding?
Enjoy it and take your time. I let little things stress me out that I eventually realized was silly. Do your research on vendors. Don’t hire certain people just because they’re cheap. I believe you get what you pay for. Go to wedding festivals, ask other brides for their opinions on what they would keep or change about their wedding. We had a little over a year to plan ours and I absolutely loved it. It gave me more time to book every vendor I wanted, but it also gave me the chance to make sure every detail was perfect! I made a few mistakes along the way so it was nice to have plenty of time to make new centerpieces or re-order linens in a bigger size.
